What we do

The first principle behind what we do is clear: we start with the fundamental premise that technology is an enabler, and not the end game. Why is this so important? Because it means that technology is a vehicle to implementing business strategy. So our first activity is to understand what you want to achieve, and put technology into context. Only then can we explore and fully exploit the technology options that can deliver business results.

So while "what we do" - identify choices, assess strengths and weaknesses of the options relative to the objectives, define a technology roadmap, implement a new product or service - is important, what's equally important is how we do it.

How we add value

First and foremost, the role Museum Technologies plays is that of "strategic conscience." That is, we will not develop a technology solution until we understand the business and identify any issues, and the reason for the solution is defined, understood and agreed by all. In this way we can assure that all activities relate back to the appropriate business drivers, and the overarching vision and mandate of the institution.

But equally important, we will reflect back to you not only what you asked for, but what, in our professional opinion, may be a more effective approach, or indeed, solution. And this applies whether the issue is a technology choice, or a business process. Your patrons are first and foremost in our minds; everything we do is considered in terms of enriching their experience with your brand.
